Regular Season Round 5: Kyoto Hannar. - Ryukyu GK 94-89

There was a change at the B League leadership position after last games. Round 5 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Ryukyu GK (4-1). They were defeated by second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (4-1) 94-89 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ryukyu GK. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Kyoto Hannar. made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) responded with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Kyoto Hannar. and five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Norio Sassa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Ryukyu GK. Ryukyu GK will play next round against strong San-en NeoPhoenix trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kyoto Hannar. will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Toyama Grouses on the road.
