Regular Season Round 2: Vilpas - Kobrat 94-86

Everything went according to plan when Vilpas (3-1) defeated Lapuan Korikobrat (0-2) in Salo 94-86 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But Lapuan Korikobrat won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Forward Brandon Taylor (201-94, college: Penn St.) notched 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Diante Baldwin (180-94, college: NC-Greensboro) supported him with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Even 24 points and 8 rebounds by guard Khalil Small (188, college: Green Bay) did not help to save the game for Lapuan Korikobrat. Guard Larry Anderson (195-89, college: Long Beach St.) added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Four Lapuan Korikobrat players scored in double figures. Vilpas will meet Tampereen Pyrinto (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lapuan Korikobrat will play against Helsinki Seagulls (#5) and hope to win that game.
