Regular Season Round 5: Nagoya DD - Fukuoka Rizing 89-76

Everything went according to plan in Nagoya where fourth ranked Diamond Dolphins (3-2) beat bottom-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (0-5) 89-76 on Wednesday. Diamond Dolphins shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. American Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) stepped up and scored 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 17 points and 13 rebounds. American center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: W.Kentucky) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Dolphins moved-up to third place, which they share with Chiba Jets and Toyama Grouses. Fukuoka Rizing lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face league's second-placed Osaka Evessa on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Akita Happinets and hopes to get finally their first victory.
