The biggest surprise took place in Montevideo where host Urunday Univ. (2-2) edged league's leader Defensor (3-1) 69-67 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Defensor. American power forward Chaz Crawford (207-84, college: Drexel) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Urunday Univ. players scored in double figures. American center Anthony-Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Andres Dotti (185-93) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Defensor's coach Alvaro Ponce rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Urunday Univ. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Defensor at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Hebraica and Olimpia. They were replaced at the leadership position by Nacional. Defensor will play next round against strong Olimpia trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo - Olimpia. Urunday Univ. will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Atenas. It will be extra interesting game as Atenas is their local rival from Montevideo.
