Regular Season Round 7: Gunma - Shinshu BW 72-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Gunma. Leader Shinshu BW faced 3rd placed Gunma. Guests from Nagano (8-0) defeated host Gunma (4-4) 80-72. Shinshu BW made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Gunma outrebounded Shinshu BW 41-28 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists for the winning side. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) came up with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) added 18 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Gunma in the defeat. Gunma's coach Fujitaka Hiraoka rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Gunma at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
