No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Wetterbygden (3-4) beat on the road bottom-ranked Uppsala Basket (1-6) 89-80 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-18. But Uppsala Basket won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wetterbygden made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Uppsala Basket turnovers. American CJ Dunston (196-94, college: Lancaster Bible) nailed 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and guard Albin Hall-Eriksson (187-96) accounted for 19 points. Four Wetterbygden players scored in double figures. American guard Xavier Cannefax (188-89, college: Warner Pacific) came up with 32 points and 4 assists and swingman Axel Nordstrom (193-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 25 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Uppsala Basket in the defeat. Wetterbygden moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Nassjo. Loser Uppsala Basket stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Wetterbygden will meet at home higher ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Uppsala Basket will play against Umea (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
