Bigua can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Verdirrojo (1-2) on the road game in Montevideo 80-71. Bigua players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Verdirrojo's players. The winners were led by American-Jamaican center Dane Johnson (208-86, college: Hofstra) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Joaquin Osimani (193-87) supported him with 20 points and 6 assists. Four Bigua players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by American Joe Efese (198-90, college: Cent.Conn.St.) did not help to save the game for Verdirrojo. His fellow American import forward Cleon Roberts (198-93, college: La Salle) added 15 points for lost side. Verdirrojo's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bigua (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Atenas. Newly promoted Verdirrojo dropped to the tenth position with two games lost. Bigua's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Sayago (#14) at home.
