Regular Season Round 6: Le Portel - Fos-Provence 85-83

Date: October 19, 2018
Bottom-ranked Provence Basket is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to eighth ranked Le Portel (4-2) 85-83 on Friday evening. Provence Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Benoit Mangin (188-88) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 assists. American power forward Darrell Williams (203-89, college: Tex.A&M-Comm., agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Provence Basket. Four Le Portel and five Provence Basket players scored in double figures. Provence Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Le Portel moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Provence Basket still closes the standings with six games lost. Le Portel will face Chalons-Reims (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Provence Basket will play against Boulazac Basket (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
