Regular Season Round 3: Hottur - Hamar 92-93

The most exciting game of round 3 in the D1 took place in Egilsstadir. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of Hottur (1-2) to Hamar (3-0) 93-92 on Friday evening. Hottur was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 26-22 charge of Hamar, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Hottur helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Co.Carolina) who led his team to a victory scoring 41 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Croatian Marko Milekic (201-95) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Hamar players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Charles Clark (188-96, college: Carson-Newman) with 44 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Lithuanian center Pranas Skurdauskas (209-88, agency: Players Group) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Hamar is looking forward to face Snaefell (#8) in Stykkisholmur in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hottur will play on the road against Thor AK in Akureyri and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
