Regular Season Round 3: Leiden - Rotterdam 88-64

Not a big story in a game when Rotterdam (0-4) was rolled over on the road by Leiden (2-0) 88-64. It looked good early as Rotterdam took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Leiden had a 27-13 second period charge getting the lead and Rotterdam was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-88. Leiden dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Rotterdam's 22. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Maurice Watson (178-93, college: Creighton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists. His fellow American import guard Darius Thompson (193-95, college: W.Kentucky) accounted for 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Leiden players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Jeroen van-der-List (212-89, college: Indian Hills CC) came up with 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Justin Gordon (198-93, college: Wofford) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Rotterdam in the defeat. Leiden will play against Den Helder (#8) on the road in the next round. Rotterdam will play against Groningen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
