But Trefl was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Wloclawek 92-82 on Saturday night. Anwil looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Russian forward Valery Likhodey (205-86, agency: Alti Sport) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. International swingman Michal Michalak (196-93) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Anwil's coach Igor Milicic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Ian Baker (185-93, college: N.Mexico St.) came up with 17 points and 7 assists and the former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (203-86) added 17 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) respectively for Trefl in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anwil will meet at home Twarde Pierniki (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trefl will play against Rosa (#15) in Radom and hope to win that game.
