We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (2-5) beat at home 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-5) 80-76 on Saturday. Strangely Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Yokohama BC 41-28 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Amanze Egekeze (203-95, college: Belmont) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Masashi Hosoya (173-89) chipped in 22 points. Yokohama BC's coach Thomas Wisman used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Yokohama BC moved-up to fourth place, which they share with SeaHorses and Shiga L-Stars. Shiga L-Stars lost third consecutive game. Yokohama BC will face again Shiga L-Stars (#5) at home in the next round.
