Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Jairis and 4th placed L'Alfas had identical 1-1 record. This time Jairis used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Alfas Del Pi 82-70 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group E-B. Strangely L'Alfas outrebounded Jairis 46-33 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Italian-Argentinian Juan Ignacio Jasen (200-85) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Willie Williams-III (200-88, college: Bridgeport) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian forward Dusan Juzbasic (201-99, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. L'Alfas' coach Iker Benzazoua rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Jairis maintains second place in Group E-B with 2-1 record behind leader Lliria, which they share with Gandia and UPCT Basket. Loser L'Alfas dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Jairis will face Benidorm (#6) on the road in the next round.
