Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Aomori Watts and 6th ranked Orange Vikings had identical 1-5 record. This time Aomori Watts used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Matsuyama 89-70 on Saturday night. Aomori Watts looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Keisuke Aita (182-95) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. American power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) added 23 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aomori Watts (2-5) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kanazawa Sam. and Tokyo HT. Loser Orange Vikings keep the sixth position with six games lost. Aomori Watts will face again Orange Vikings (#6) in Matsuyama in the next round.
