Regular Season Round 4: Rawia - Zary 88-98

Not a big story in a game in Rawicz where bottom-ranked Rawia (0-3) was defeated by top-ranked Zary (3-0) 98-88 on Saturday. Zary made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Point guard Mariusz Matczak (180-86) fired 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists for the winners (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Mariusz Malachowski (194-85) chipped in 15 points. Five Zary players scored in double figures. Point guard Bartlomiej Rodak (180-96) produced 21 points and 6 assists and swingman Szymon Maciolek (190-91) added 23 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Zary have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group D. Loser Rawia still closes the standings with three games lost. Zary will face Zielona Gora 2 (#10) in Nowa Sol in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rawia will play on the road against Koscian and hopes to get finally their first victory.
