Very predictable result when leader Igualada (5-0) beat at home 6th ranked Valls Nutrion (3-2) 75-68 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was center Micky Garcia (205-85, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Center Eduard Tejero (196-92) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. American center Ryan Edwards (216-95, college: Portland St.) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Equatorial Guinean forward Oscar Ngomo (201-90) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Igualada have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group C-A with 5-0 record. Loser Valls Nutrion dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Igualada will face Castellbisbal (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Valls Nutrion will play against Mataro Parc Boet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
