Regular Season Round 6: Boulazac - Nanterre 83-78
Date: October 20, 2018
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked JSF Nanterre (2-3) lost on the road to twelfth ranked Boulazac Basket (3-3) 83-78 on Saturday. Boulazac Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to JSF Nanterre's 26. It was a great shooting night for Boulazac Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Dutch center Nicolas de-Jong (210-88) who led his team to a victory with 21 points. Canadian point guard Kenny Chery (180-92, college: Baylor) contributed with 10 points and 5 assists for the winners. Icelandic Haukur Palsson (197-92, college: Maryland) replied with 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American guard Jeremy Senglin (188-95, college: Weber St.) added 13 points in the effort for JSF Nanterre. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JSF Nanterre's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boulazac Basket moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser JSF Nanterre dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Boulazac Basket will face bottom-ranked Provence Basket (#18) in Fos-sur-Mer in the next round and are hoping to win another game. JSF Nanterre will play at home against Le Mans (#3) and hope to win that game.
