Regular Season Round 5: Alfinden - SESE 68-77

There was a minor upset in Zaragoza where 5th ranked Alfinden (2-2) was defeated by seventh ranked SESE (3-2) 77-68 on Saturday. SESE forced 22 Alfinden turnovers. Strangely Alfinden outrebounded SESE 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Albert Barquets (189-98) who scored 22 points. Joaquim Galve (-93) chipped in 21 points. Power forward Jose Malo (203-96) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Pablo Gracia (197-96) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. SESE moved-up to fourth place in Group C-B, which they share with Arenys and Sant Adria. Alfinden at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. SESE will face Sant Josep (#11) in Badalona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alfinden will play on the road against Andorra II (#10) and hope to win that game.
