Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Cagliari CUS (1-3) lost at home to top-ranked Palermo (4-0) 59-50 on Saturday. Palermo outrebounded Cagliari CUS 40-25 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Dutch-Australian center Jacinta Vandenberg (196-93, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Marta Verona (178-94) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Polish Aneta Kotnis (186-89) replied with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and the former international forward Silvia Favento (185-85) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Cagliari CUS. Palermo maintains second position in A2 with 4-0 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Alpo VF. Loser Cagliari CUS keeps the tenth place with three games lost.
