Regular Season Round 7: Tochigi Brex - Hokkaido L. 79-70

Rather predictable result when first ranked Tochigi Brex (6-1) won against at home 4th placed Hokkaido L. (3-4) 79-70 on Sunday. Tochigi Brex shot 21 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Hokkaido L. only scored five points from the stripe. Tochigi Brex had a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Guard Seiji Ikaruga (185-94) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Spanish center David Doblas (206-81) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Tochigi Brex maintains first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Toyota Alvark and Ryukyu GK. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Akita Happinets (#4) on the road in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
