Regular Season Round 8: Cyberdyne IR - Yamagata 78-85

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Cyberdyne IR (5-3) in Tsukuba on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Yamagata (4-4) 85-78. Yamagata shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (201-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) contributed with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 18 rebounds and swingman Josei Maniwa (193-86) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Cyberdyne IR. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yamagata have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Gunma. Cyberdyne IR at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. They share it with Shimane SM and Tokyo Z. Yamagata is looking forward to face Gunma (#4) at home in the next round. Cyberdyne IR will play against Fukushima and is hoping to win this game.
