Regular Season Round 8: Kumamoto V. - Tokyo HT 84-61

Rather predictable result when second ranked Kumamoto V. (6-2) rolled over at home 5th ranked Tokyo HT (2-6) 84-61 on Sunday. Kumamoto V. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. International power forward Ryota Nakanishi (199-88) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Kumamoto V.'s coach Takayuki Yasuda felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Hiroya Ogane (180-89) added 14 points in the effort for Tokyo HT. Kumamoto V. have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Toyotsu FE and Sendai 89ers. Newly promoted Tokyo HT dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Kumamoto V. will face league's leader Dragonflies in Hiroshima in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo HT will play on the road against the league's leader Shinshu BW in Nagano and hope to win that game.
