Regular Season Round 4: Savonese - San Salvatore 68-73

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked San Salvatore (3-1) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Savonese (0-4) 73-68 on Sunday. San Salvatore made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Savonese turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Quite impressive performance for the former international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Giorgia Manfrc (183-92) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four San Salvatore players scored in double figures. Guard Elisabetta Penz (172-96) replied with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Annalisa Vitari (185-96, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 4 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Savonese. Savonese's coach Vito Pollari tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. San Salvatore moved-up to sixth place in A2. Loser Savonese still closes the standings with four games lost. San Salvatore will face Civitanova (#7) in Civitanova Marche in the next round. Savonese will play at home against Cagliari CUS (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
