Important game to mention about took place in Aomori. Sixth ranked Orange Vikings (2-6) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Aomori Watts (2-6) 86-85 in the game for the fourth place. Orange Vikings dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aomori Watts' 34. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Cory Johnson (202-88, college: Valparaiso) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 19 rebounds and the other American import power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who added 28 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Orange Vikings' coach Richard Glesmann allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Cullen Russo (206-94, college: Fresno St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Keijiro Monma (185-94) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Aomori Watts players scored in double figures. Orange Vikings moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Aomori Watts. Orange Vikings will play against Kagawa FA (#6) in Takamatsu in the next round. Aomori Watts will play on the road against the league's leader Sendai 89ers and hope to get back on the winning track.
