Regular Season Round 3: PuHu Juniorit - HyPo 69-101

HyPo (3-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed PuHu Juniorit (0-3) in Vantaa 101-69. The game without a history. HyPo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to PuHu Juniorit's 30. They outrebounded PuHu Juniorit 49-26 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for American point guard Armin Cane (188-93, college: Stockton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Swingman Samatar Abokar (190-1) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Cane is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. Guard Edgard Mombilo (190-97) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Valtteri Leino (183-95) added 19 points respectively for PuHu Juniorit in the defeat. PuHu Juniorit's coach Kari Kamppi gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
