Regular Season Round 5: Caceres - Utrera 76-74

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Utrera (1-2) was edged on the road by ninth ranked Caceres (1-2) 76-74 on Sunday. Utrera was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Franco Acosta (201-98) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Cayetano Abreu (188-0) chipped in 17 points. Forward Jose-Ignacio Giraldez (200-97) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and American center Ronald Farmer-Blanchard (208-91, college: Wash.Adventist) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Caceres left bottom position moving up to seventh place in Group D-B, which they share with defeated Utrera. Caceres will face San Fernando (#11) on the road in the next round.
