Regular Season Round 2: Breakers - Kings 78-101

Date: October 21, 2018
Very significant was Kings' (#4) 23-point road victory against New Zealand Breakers 101-78. Kings made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Kings had a 31-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kings especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The former international center Andrew Bogut (213-84, college: Utah) notched 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Kings players scored in double figures. Even 22 points by American-Fijian forward Tai Wesley (201-86, college: Utah St.) did not help to save the game for New Zealand Breakers. American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kings will play against Cairns Taipans (#4) at home in the next round. New Zealand Breakers will play against Adelaide 36ers to get more than just one victory in their record.
