Regular Season Round 5: Gornik Walbrzych - Sokol Lancut 62-82

The game in Walbrzych supposed to be also quite interesting. Leader Sokol Lancut (5-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Gornik (2-3). Sokol Lancut did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 82-62 on Sunday. Sokol Lancut shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Swingman Filip Malgorzaciak (192-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and swingman Bartlomiej Karolak (199-92) chipped in 23 points. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Hubert Kruszczynski (187-95) scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sokol Lancut. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Slask Wroclaw. Newly promoted Gornik keeps the eighth place with three games lost. Sokol Lancut will face Biofarm PZN (#12) in Poznan in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Gornik will play on the road against Polfarmex (#6) in Kutno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
