Regular Season Round 4: Haukar - Keflavik 69-86

One of their biggest challengers Haukar (2-2) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Keflavik (2-2) with the biggest margin this round 86-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Haukar. The game was mostly controlled by Keflavik. Haukar was better in third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Haukar outrebounded Keflavik 44-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Brittanny Dinkins (170-94, college: S.Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Bryndis Gudmundsdottir (178-88) contributed with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 9 assists and international point guard Thora Jonsdottir (171-97) added 25 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Haukar. Keflavik moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Haukar. Keflavik's next round opponent will be Valur (#4) in Reykjavik. Haukar will play on the road against Stjarnan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
