Regular Season Round 4: Sleza Wroclaw - AZS UMCS 80-78

Very expected game when 9th ranked AZS UMCS (1-3) was edged on the road by top-ranked Sleza Wroclaw (3-0) 80-78 on Sunday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovakian Terezia Palenikova (178-95) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Ukrainian center Taisia Udodenko (191-89) who added 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Sleza Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Sleza Wroclaw's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Brianna Kiesel (170-93, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists and international power forward Magdalena Szajtauer (190-95) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. They have a solid three-game winning streak. Sleza Wroclaw moved-up to third place. AZS UMCS lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with three games lost. Sleza Wroclaw will face league's leader Arka Gdynia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AZS UMCS will play against Artego Bydg. (#4) and hope to win that game.
