Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Azpeitia ISB and 11th ranked Gijon had identical 1-2 record. This time Azpeitia ISB used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Gijon 74-72 on Sunday night. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jahvaughn Powell (183-96, college: Nicholls St.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Iker Salazar (200-93) who added 11 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international swingman Saul Blanco (196-85) responded with 27 points and Canadian forward Shane Osayande (198-93, college: Saskatchewan, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Azpeitia ISB (2-2) moved-up to ninth place in Silver. Newly promoted Gijon dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Azpeitia ISB will face higher ranked Cocinas.com (#3) in Logrono in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gijon will play at home against Estela (#7) and hope to win that game.
