Regular Season Round 5: Joventut - Gipuzkoa 88-64

Bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to fourteenth ranked Joventut (2-2) 88-64. The game without a history. Joventut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Israeli swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Canadian-Irish forward Conor Morgan (206-94, college: UBC) chipped in 13 points. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. Point guard Daniel Perez (188-90) responded with 8 points and 6 assists and Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (205-95) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Joventut moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Estudiantes. Gipuzkoa lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Joventut will play against league's leader FC Barcelona on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gipuzkoa will play against Gran Canaria (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
