Regular Season Round 4: Isa Town - Samaheej 103-76

Isa Town can celebrate their first win this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Samaheej (0-4) 103-76 on Monday. Isa Town dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Samaheej's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Gavin Thurman (203-94, college: Newman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and Tunisian Ahmed Salman who added 25 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists (made all of his eight free throws) during the contest. At the losing side Hussain Busafwan responded with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Mujtaba Ismaeel produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Isa Town (1-2) left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Sitra and Al-Nweidrat. It was Samaheej's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Isa Town will meet league's leader Al-Manama in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Samaheej will play against Sitra (#9) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
