Regular Season Round 3: Cedevita - Alkar 103-75

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Premijer Liga took place in Zagreb where host Cedevita (3-0) crushed Alkar (2-1) 103-75 on Monday evening. Cedevita dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Alkar's 42 and made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Alkar 48-35 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Alkar helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Toni Katic (188-92) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Antonio Jordano (191-99) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Cedevita players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Hrvoje Vucic (210-91, college: Walsh) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and forward Dino Sipic (201-88) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alkar will play next round against KK Skrljevo trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cedevita will try to continue on its current victory against H.Analitica. It will be extra interesting game as H.Analitica is their local rival from Zagreb.
