There was a minor upset when Bnei Hasharon (1-2) lost to Maccabi Ashdod (1-2) in Hod Hasharon 70-75. Maccabi Ashdod outrebounded Bnei Hasharon 42-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Orr Leumi (192-96) who recorded 15 points and 5 assists and American-Georgian guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Maccabi Ashdod's next round opponent will be Maccabi Rishon (#7) in Rishon Le-Zion.
