There was a small surprise in Colon where La Union (1-1) edged Gimnasia LP (0-1) 86-83 on Tuesday. La Union made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Gimnasia LP outrebounded La Union 43-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Point guard Franco Bazani (180-96) fired 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Guard Luciano Silva (188-96) chipped in 24 points. Uruguayan power forward Agustin Zuvich (201-95) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Leonardo La-Bella (180-86) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. La Union will face Parque Sur (#7) in Concepcion de Urug. in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gimnasia LP will play at home against Estudiantes O. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
