Everything went according to plan when second ranked Diamond Dolphins (6-2) beat on the road 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-6) 84-77 on Wednesday. Diamond Dolphins made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) who added 16 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Diamond Dolphins' coach Shingo Kajiyama used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Diamond Dolphins have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-2 record having just one point less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Chiba Jets. Shiga L-Stars lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Fukuoka Rizing (#6) at home in the next round.
