Regular Season Round 5: Levice - Inter Bratislava 87-69

SBL round 5 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Inter Bratislava (3-1) against fourth ranked Levice (4-1) 87-69 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Inter Bratislava. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Levice forced 19 Inter Bratislava turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Steven Davis (203-93, college: Wright St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Boris Bojanovsky (217-93, college: Florida St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Levice players scored in double figures. American point guard James Kinney (187-90, college: San Jose St.) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Lee Skinner (198-92, college: Wofford) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Inter Bratislava. Inter Bratislava's coach Oliver Vidin rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Inter Bratislava at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Prievidza and Iskra Svit. They were replaced at the leadership position by Levice. Inter Bratislava will play next round against strong Iskra Svit trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Levice will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Prievidza on the road.
