Regular Season Round 5: Snaefell - Skallagrimur 81-78

The most exciting game of round 5 in the Dominos League took place in Stykkisholmur. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Skallagrimur (2-3) to second ranked Snaefell (4-1) 81-78 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Kristen McCarthy (180-90, college: Temple) who had a double-double by scoring 42 points (!!!), 24 rebounds and 8 assists. Polish swingman Angelika Kowalska (179-92) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. British forward Shequila Joseph (190-95, college: Mississippi) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Bryeasha Blair (165, college: S.Carolina St.) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. Snaefell keeps a position of league leader, which they share with KR. Skallagrimur at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Haukar and Valur.
