Regular Season Round 8: Chiba Jets - Hokkaido L. 110-78

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Hokkaido L. (3-5) was crushed on the road by third ranked Chiba Jets (6-2) 110-78 on Wednesday. Chiba Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido L.'s 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Hokkaido L.'s players. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Josh Duncan (203-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who added 28 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. Spanish center David Doblas (206-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba Jets have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Loser Hokkaido L. dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Chiba Jets will face Osaka Evessa (#4) on the road in the next round.
