Regular Season Round 8: Fukuoka Rizing - Kyoto Hannar. 72-81

Rather predictable result when third ranked Kyoto Hannar. (5-3) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (0-8) 81-72 on Wednesday. Kyoto Hannar. forced 20 Fukuoka Rizing turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) who added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Masashi Joho (183-82) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kyoto Hannar. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Toyama Grouses. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing still closes the standings with eight games lost. Kyoto Hannar. will face league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fukuoka Rizing will play on the road against the league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins (#2) in Nagoya and hopes to get finally their first victory.
