Regular Season Round 4: Al-Hala - Al-Riffa 63-106

Date: October 25, 2018
The game in Muharraq supposed to be also quite interesting. Top-ranked Al-Riffa (3-0) played at the court of 5th ranked Al-Hala (2-2). Al-Riffa smashed Al-Hala 106-63 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al-Hala. Al-Riffa dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Al-Hala's 38. They outrebounded Al-Hala 46-25 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al-Hala was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Slovenian power forward Sasa Zagorac (206-84) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international guard Mohamed Kawaid (-89) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Four Al-Riffa players scored in double figures. Hussain Salman produced 8 points and 7 assists and international Hasan Gerashi added 11 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Al-Riffa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Al-Hala keeps the fifth position with two games lost. Al-Riffa will face Al-Nweidrat (#7) in Nuwaidrat in the next round. Al-Hala will play on the road against the league's second-placed Al-Muharraq in Al Muharraq and hope to win that game.
