Regular Season Round 4: Haukar - Breidablik 96-92

There was no surprise in Hafnarfjordur where bottom-ranked Breidablik (0-4) was defeated by eighth ranked Haukar (2-2) 96-92 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 51-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Haukar dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Breidablik's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Guard Haukur Oskarsson (194-91) fired 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Marques Oliver (201-91, college: Delaware St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Oliver is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. American guard Christian Covile (193-93, college: Adrian) produced 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Snorri Hrafnkelsson (199-93) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Haukar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Skallagrimur and IR. Newly promoted Breidablik still closes the standings with four games lost. Haukar will face league's second-placed Njardvik on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Breidablik will play against Skallagrimur (#7) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
