Flying Leopards (2-1) recorded a loss in Yingkou on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Sharks (2-1) 104-91. Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Flying Leopards' 48. They outrebounded Flying Leopards 53-41 including 23 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) who scored 37 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Argentinian-Spanish power forward Luis Scola (206-80) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Ailun Guo (192-93) added 25 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sharks is looking forward to face Jilin Tigers (#9) in Changchun in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Flying Leopards will play at home against Beijing Ducks (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
