Regular Season Round 3: Seagulls - Kobrat 73-96

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Helsinki Seagulls (1-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by Lapuan Korikobrat (2-2) 96-73. The game was mostly controlled by Lapuan Korikobrat. Helsinki Seagulls managed to win second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lapuan Korikobrat dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Helsinki Seagulls' 46. They outrebounded Helsinki Seagulls 42-27 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Khalil Small (188, college: Green Bay) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Mike Morsell (197-96, college: Towson, agency: Two Points) helped adding 24 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international Tuukka Kotti (205-81, college: Providence) with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Armenian-American guard Andre Spight (191-95, college: N.Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 15 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helsinki Seagulls' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Lapuan Korikobrat is looking forward to face BC Nokia (#5) on the road in the next round. Helsinki Seagulls will have a break next round.
