An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Okinawa. First ranked Ryukyu GK faced 3rd placed Toshiba Thunders. Host Ryukyu GK (8-2) defeated guests from Kanagawa (5-5) 68-60. Ryukyu GK outrebounded Toshiba Thunders 38-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Ryukyu GK's coach Norio Sassa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Ryukyu GK have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-2 record. Toshiba Thunders lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
