Regular Season Round 4: Skallagrimur - IR 99-96

A very close game took place in Borganes between Skallagrimur and IR. Eighth ranked Skallagrimur (2-2) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked IR (2-2). Skallagrimur managed to escape with a 3-point win 99-96 in the fight for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of IR. IR was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 30-21 charge of Skallagrimur, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Eyjolfur Halldorsson (198-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Aundre Jackson (196-95, college: Loyola, IL) who added 25 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Justin Martin (198-90, college: SMU) responded with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Hakon Hjalmarsson (188-99) scored 19 points and 7 assists. Four Skallagrimur and five IR players scored in double figures. Skallagrimur moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Haukar and IR. Skallagrimur will meet Breidablik (#11) in the next round where they are favorite. IR will play against Keflavik (#3) and hope to secure a win.
