Regular Season Round 7: Aubenas - Kaysersberg 86-51

Aubenas has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Kaysersberg (1-6) 86-51 on Friday. Aubenas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kaysersberg's 22. Aubenas forced 22 Kaysersberg turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Gaylor Lobela-Nkuna (206-95, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Aubenas players scored in double figures. At the losing side Senegalese forward Elson Mendy (200-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and center Alioune Tew (206-92, college: Niagara) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aubenas left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in Group A, which they share with GET Vosges and Kaysersberg. It was Kaysersberg's sixth loss in a row. Aubenas will face higher ranked Feurs EF (#10) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
