Regular Season Round 4: Fjolnir - FSU 84-73

Date: October 26, 2018
Bottom-ranked FSU (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 84-73 loss to third ranked Fjolnir (3-1) in Reykjavik on Friday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 23-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Fjolnir dominated on the defensive end, holding FSU to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Anton Grady (203-92, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 21 rebounds and Hungarian-Serbian Srdjan Stojanovic (197-91) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Fjolnir players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Dominican point guard Mike Rodriguez (178-94, college: S.Illinois) responded with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Snjolfur Stefansson (192-98) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Fjolnir have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 3-1 record behind leader Hamar, which they share with Thor AK. Loser FSU still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Snaefell. Fjolnir will meet Sindri (#6) in the next round. FSU will play against Snaefell and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
