Regular Season Round 7: Sorgues BC - Charleville 69-79

There was an upset when 4th placed Sorgues BC (5-2) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (3-4) 79-69 on Friday. Charleville-Mezieres forced 20 Sorgues BC turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Nabil El-Amrani (185-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. Bosnian Nemanja Kovanusic (204-93) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Cecil Williams (198, college: Cent.Michigan) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and center David Conde (202-92) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sorgues BC players scored in double figures. Charleville-Mezieres moved-up to seventh place in Group A, which they share with ALS Basket and Boulogne. Loser Sorgues BC dropped to the third position with two games lost. Charleville-Mezieres will face league's leader Saint-Quentin on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sorgues BC will play against Saint Vallier and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
